Knowledge Keepers

Central to Creative Climate is the creation of a First Nations led culture and arts circle, gathering or group (working title Knowledge Keepers) of First Nations Elders, artists and knowledge holders from across so called Australia.

Claire G. Coleman (Wirlomin-Noongar), from the Centre for Reworlding is leading the Knowledge Keepers consultation process to bring Indigenous knowledge systems and protocols to Creative Climate to inspire and lead the climate response. The Knowledge Keepers will include Indigenous artists, Elders, leaders and changemakers with the knowledges needed to create change in the ways Australia and Australian creatives respond, collaborate and adapt to the colonial crisis of climate change.

Over the next 9 months Claire is planning to meet with First Nations artists, Elders and cultural knowlegde holders in  Gimuy, Garramilla, Yugambeh country, Bundanon, Gadigal, Lutruwita, Tarntanya, Boorloo,  Rubibi and Naarm.

Claire would love to meet with First Nations artists, Elders and cultural knowledge holders to have a discussion about the best way to establish such a group to ensure that we have diverse perspectives from different First Nations countries and language groups and develop the protocols of the group. Claire will be facilitating Knowledge Keepers with co-founder of centre for reworlding Dr Jen Rae (Métis/Scottish/Canadian).

Please contact Claire at knowledgekeepers@creativeclimate.com.au if you are interested in having a conversation or alternatively fill in the form below with your thoughts.
