I’m hearing about Mandatory Carbon Reporting, will it affect the arts sector?
Mandatory climate-related financial disclosures, introduced in Australia in 2025, will impact the arts sector by requiring certain organisations to report on their climate-related risks and opportunities. This new legislation will apply to large corporations and asset managers, with a phased approach for smaller entities over the coming years. The arts sector, particularly institutions with unique energy consumption patterns (like museums and theatres) and those involved in touring, will need to adapt to these new reporting requirements. For more information check out the downloadable in our Tools and Resources section.
